“Scoop the Poop”

A collaborative effort with the City of Roanoke, Clean Valley Council, and the Western Virginia Water Authority — “Scoop the Poop” is focused on educating the public about the effects of pet waste in our environment, specifically as it relates to our waterways. This project encouraged proper disposal of pet waste with Interpretative signage at dog parks and at Carvins Cove — in addition to a public campaign. In 2016, The Garden Club of Virginia recognized the efforts of this important project with the Bessie Bocock Conservation Award.
