The goal of the photography committee is to educate the membership on the best use of personal digital cameras, focusing on garden club-related subjects such as flower arrangement, gardens and landscapes, the environment, and community preservation and improvement.
The committee offers opportunities to learn from professional photographers about the basics of camera use, including the iPhone camera. Instruction by experts teaches members to have a discerning eye for photographic detail and an appreciation for subject matter as seen through the lens of a camera. Professionals have also mentored photography enthusiasts in how to critique a photo, select a subject, and ways to make the best use of cropping, lighting, and background.
MMGC members interested in photography also participate in our garden club flower show competitions with their photographic entries.
